What We Do

This Program is for Habitat Homebuyers completing Sweat Equity only.

ReStore Information

Shift times: 10 am-2 pm or 2 pm-6 pm

ReStore Homebuyer Backroom Support: 
Assist staff in the day-to-day activities of the ReStore backroom.
Greet the donor and be able to identify acceptable and unacceptable donations
Assist in unloading donations and purchases from our donors and vendors.
Identify items that need a little TLC in order make them sellable, items that can be recycled, and items that can be given to other organizations
Ability to make minor repairs on donated items
Assist in unloading donations/purchases from our donors/vendors
Ability to use a variety of cleaning products to clean/sanitize donations

ReStore Homebuyer Sales Floor Support: 
Greet customers, welcome them back and thank them for their loyalty
Take priced product from carts and place in correct location on sales floor
Identify areas that need to be restocked
Help with routine cleaning
Help customers with taking paid merchandise out to their vehicles
Advocate and share with customers information about our homebuyer program
Limited basis: Assist customers with their purchases through operating cash registers, processing credit card sales

ReStore Homebuyer Cookie Baker: 
Provide treats in recognition of our volunteers at ReStore.  Required ability to bake or purchase cookies or snacks and have a means of transportation to deliver them to ReStore between the hours of 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Saturday. Volunteers receive 2 hours of volunteer time for each scheduled cookie baker delivery.

Requirements of ReStore:
No clothing with offensive words or symbols
Closed toe shoes only (no sandals, heels, slides, flip flops, clogs, crocs, etc.)

Construction Information

Please note our start time of 8:00am. The workday will finish by 4:00pm. We have a required orientation/safety meeting promptly at 8:00am, so please allow time to arrive, park, and get checked in prior to 8:00am. 

Lunch will be provided around noon. Water, coffee, & lemonade are also provided throughout the day (please bring your own reusable cup for water or coffee).  

Please bring/wear the following items to a Habitat work site (required):

  • Closed toe/heel shoes.
  • Boots or rainwear for inclement weather (worksites are often muddy).
  • Dress for the weather (cold and hot). Layers are ideal. Bring extra clothing. You may get wet or dirty.  
  • Reusable water bottle or coffee cup.
  • Bag/camping chair so you’ll have somewhere to sit during breaks and lunch.

If you have any of the following, you are invited to bring your own. If you don’t have these items, Habitat keeps a supply of them in our trailers for your use. Items are BOLD type are often most comfortable when you have your own as they require some custom fit.

Habitat Office - Front Desk

In this vital, front-facing role, you won't just be a receptionist—you'll be the first impression and the crucial connection point for every person who steps through our door. Your efforts keep our entire mission running smoothly, ensuring we can continue building homes and hope in the Fox Cities community. In this vital role, you'll be the first point of contact for our visitors and callers, making a real difference by:

- Greeting guests with a smile and helping them with their questions or meetings.
- Answering and directing phone calls to ensure everyone connects with the right person.
- Assisting with light computer tasks to keep things running smoothly.
- Handling daily mail, making sure important information gets where it needs to go.
- Tackling other miscellaneous tasks that help our mission thrive!

Office Hours: Monday through Thursday (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM) and Fridays (8:30 AM – 3:00 PM).
Scheduling: Choose the option that works best for you—full-day or flexible half-day shifts are available.
