Paint: painting interior ceilings and walls (Cutting = using brush to paint corners. Rolling = using rollers to paint the main part of the ceiling and walls)

Please arrive at the site by 7:30am.

Make sure to allow plenty of time to park, sign in, and locate the construction site tub. A required safety meeting will happen promptly at 8:00am. Lunch preparation should start around 11:45am. 

Please bring/wear the following items to a Habitat work site:

Cap Foundation: install remaining I-joists and putting floor (aka dance floor) 4x8 sheets of OSB

Wall Layout/Stairs/Components: snap chalk lines on “dance floor,” components – build windows and door frames, install stairs to basement

Build Walls: just as it sounds – putting together and raising the walls of the home

Roof 2/Blocking: finishing the roof, installing the sub-fascia boards and installing blocking in the walls for bath accessories and blocking for drywall

Doors/Windows: finishing roofing, installing doors and windows

Siding Layout: putting chalk lines on house, siding prep (skirting, corners), start siding installation

Siding: installing siding on exterior of home and garage

Insulate/Air Seal: air seal = caulking; insulate = installing insulation

DriCore/Stairs: finish stairs (treads, handrails, etc); DriCore (subfloor in basement above concrete) tongue & groove – concrete subfloor)

Cabinets 2/Doors: installing cabinets, finish stairs (treads, handrails, etc); Install Doors

Cabinets 2/Trim: installing cabinets, finish doors and trim

Doors 2/Trim: finish doors and trim

Trim 2/Finish: finish = storm doors, interior doors, attic scuttle, finish detail work

Clean: bath accessories, towel bars, touch up paint, fill nail holes, caulk windows and outlets, detail work

Please provide a meal for volunteers. **Dietary/Religious Restrictions: Please be sensitive to our volunteers with special dietary or religious concerns. If you could provide a small variety of meal choices, that usually covers all dietary needs. We ask that you always have a small portion of a vegetarian entrée option available such as a salad or a vegetarian version of whatever you’re making such as chili, soup, lasagna, pizza, sandwiches, salads without bacon bits, meat, etc. Click here for our meal suggestions document.
